I think it really depends on the person. I have ADHD and so I absolutely CAN'T work in an office because it kills all of my productivity simply because I get so distracted by things going on around me that I can't focus.

When I'm at home and I can work in my quiet office with no outside distractions, I get ten times more actual work done. People like to scream about "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE HUMAN INTERACTION" but I genuinely don't see how that would be an issue unless you also have no life outside of work and so work is the only place that you interact with other people. For me it's not, so not being in an office doesn't make a difference to me because I'm getting plenty of socialization outside of work.

ADHD (and human brains in general) is so funny because my ADHD is the opposite. I need the structure of going into an office, complete with the hubub, to be my most productive. WFH has been so bad for me, there are just so many distractions and just the wrong sensory stimulus.

Same. I'm so distracted at home that I get next to no work done. In the office I just put on my headphones if there's too much noise, but just the fact that I'm in the office already gives me so much more focus.

+2

I still don't like working in an office, and would like to work somewhere with people and constant movement and interaction. WFH was incredibly hard unless the pressure was super intense.

THIS. I have ADHD and I can't get shit done at home. I have to have the structure of going to a place and knowing that coworkers and bosses are around me. It keeps me better on track.

Ayrt and yeah, that is why I said a large percentage, not all. People are different!
