I get this. Olympics and superstar athletes and celebs are people you don't know and will never meet except to get an autograph or something and totally divorced from their audiences lives. Whereas youtubers tend to cultivate parasocial relationships where their audience thinks they do know TheRealYoutuber in some personal capacity so RPF feels less like you're writing about characters.

Some youtubers play/act a totally fictional character in their videos and writing fic of the fictional characters they play feels the same as sports RPF, but RPF of a daily livestreamer or something is weirder because it's more like you're writing RPF of a real person's blog.

For me, I still get ticked when people use the word "decimate" to indicate utter distraction. I always think to myself So it caused major damage to only 10% of the area? Damn, that's amazing. I mean seriously, the word obliterate is right fucking there! The usage of decimate really needs to be pushed back on.
