Where do you hang out? Both/either online and/or off. Have you found a good community?

I feel like I am always on the search and trying new places, online and off, but haven't quite found a good fit yet.

Here, Tumblr for the Tolkien fandom. Facebook for lawyer groups. Flightrising for fun. That's about it really these days.

I hate how facebook has actually become the best space for me to find communities. I am in a few work related ones and a few backpacking and hiking ones and they have just been the absolute best. But fb itself is just awful.

Fandom on Facebook seems mostly terrible. But I have found some good lawyer groups. We help each other and talk about being lawyers and it is really useful.

Mostly discord and reddit. I post my stuff to tumblr, but I rarely get anyone actually engaging, so I have no real community there.

Where even is fandom these days?

I deleted my tumblr years ago and since then haven't really been *in* fandom or found a solid online community. I kind of miss it.

I am slightly active in a few smaller subreddits but that is about it.

As far as I can tell the current fandom ecosystem consists of Discord, Twitter, Tiktok, Tumblr, the various fic and art hosting websites, and Reddit.

I keep meaning to give Pillowfort another try since I know that the Star Trek fandom is fairly active on there.
I have been lurking in fandoms on Reddit and have finally gotten an account after so many years of resisting. Otherwise I'm mostly active on AO3, Youtube and Tumblr.
(This is making me miss fan communities of Deviantart :( I know its a shit site but the communities were the last active parts of the site post-eclipse update and it was nice to chat to people on there before everything went dead).

Everything feels like varying degrees of garbage but I've found my niche on tumblr recently and am quite enjoying it.

I post on reddit as well but mostly avoid fandom things on there because I'm fed up of having to tailor what I say in a way that won't get a bunch of men crying in my mentions.

Too many online ones to mention here, even though I can coherently manage my multiple accounts.

Do you know of any hobby specific online communities?

Offline, I enjoy socializing at Starbucks a little.
