That's their problem, not the movie's. If two men had sex onscreen they'd still think it was a joke. A tasteless, disgusting joke they didn't want to see, I'm sure, but still a joke. In fact, it was not unheard of for the two male leads in stoner comedies for cishet dudes in days not long past (the 90s) to have a make-out scene for that kind of "funny" shock value. See Dude Where's My Car and that movie the South Park guys starred in.
