Actors you like, Roles you don't

What are your least favorite roles of your favorite actors? Or actors you usually love but there is that one role that just doesn't work for you?

I don't really have favourite actors but there are some that I like and think of as great actors but who were severely miscast in some roles. For example Gary Oldman in Harry Potter and Russell Crowe in Les Miserable.

I just watched Les Mis for the first time and I felt kind of bad for laughing at Russel Crowe every time he was on screen. It was just like he was in a totally different (very dramatic) story. Cracked me up.

Sirius was so terribly miscast that it was tragic. I love Gary Oldman in most things but he was NOT Sirius.

As much as I like Keanu Reeves ... just stick to the mostly silent protag action roles, man. Maybe with some comedy sprinkled in on the side.

The romance movies are atrocious.

He was absolutely awful in Much Ado About Nothing.

Oh man, yes. That movie is so good, except for him.

Eh. I liked him quite a lot in Destination Wedding, and Constantine...to each their own.

Im expecting him to be terrible as Shadow in the upcoming Sonic movie

He was terrific as a scary, wife-beating hillbilly in The Gift, though. Just not romance.

He's been terrible in a lot of films but I actually quite liked him in "The Lake House". The film was...difficult for me to buy into, but Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves were good in that film.

I feel mixed about his work in "A Walk in the Clouds". He was trying.

He and Winona forever in "Destination Wedding".

I remember people saying he was bad in "Constantine" but it's one of my favorite roles Keanu's taken on.

With the right director and writer, Keanu can pull in some really good performances.

But yeah he's bad in a lot of films. I always have a lot of fun watching him in "Bram Stoker's Dracula". He was also hilariously bad being up against John Malkovich in "Dangerous Liaisons".

Maybe with some comedy sprinkled in on the side.

Maybe? Maybe?

He was excellent as Ted Logan in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. And great in Parenthood. And I enjoyed him in The Replacements, which I guess is a comedy. I didn't like I Love You to Death much, but I thought he was funny in it.

As for romance, yeah, there are quite a few clunkers there. But My Own Private Idaho, which I consider a romance, was pretty good.

I like Laurence Fishburne but he got stuck playing a very boring character in CSI.

Natalie Portman in the Thor movies. Honestly, this applies to a lot of actresses who are given thankless love interest roles in superhero movies (Amy Adams as Lois Lane is another example that comes to mind), but Jane stings more because I thought there was a lot of juicy god x scientist romance potential that felt so under-explored. Every MCU movie she was in fumbled the bag with her in a slightly different way
