I do think the ships involving Kira and a Cardassian are some of the best (Kira/Damar and Kira/Dukat are my faves, but I would say yes to Kira/Garak, Kira/Natima, Kira/Iliana, Kira/Tekeny, or basically any pairing you can come up with), so in that sense I kinda agree with the sentiment of the secret.

But mainly in a joking way -- being serious, it's kinda obvious why Kira has so many Cardassia-related plotlines and connections. If you're a colony of an imperial power, your cultures do end up being entwined in unavoidable ways. For example, there's often a lot of emigration from colonies to the empire, so it wouldn't surprise me if 10-20 years after the occupation ended, you had a bunch of Bajorans living on Cardassia, or if even Bajorans still on Bajor spoke fluent Cardassian, or if Bajorans sent their kids to be educated in Cardassian schools, for example. Being a terrorist who plotted the overthrow of the colonial government wouldn't really make someone immune to that inevitable entanglement between Bajor and Cardassia.

Also, part of her entire arc as a character is beginning to see Cardassians as individual people -- starting with "Duet" at least. So it stands to reason that she would be shown to have positive relationships with at least some Cardassians.

But yes that is a very valid point about the colonialism impacting Bajoran cultures.
