(Anonymous) 2024-09-03 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)But mainly in a joking way -- being serious, it's kinda obvious why Kira has so many Cardassia-related plotlines and connections. If you're a colony of an imperial power, your cultures do end up being entwined in unavoidable ways. For example, there's often a lot of emigration from colonies to the empire, so it wouldn't surprise me if 10-20 years after the occupation ended, you had a bunch of Bajorans living on Cardassia, or if even Bajorans still on Bajor spoke fluent Cardassian, or if Bajorans sent their kids to be educated in Cardassian schools, for example. Being a terrorist who plotted the overthrow of the colonial government wouldn't really make someone immune to that inevitable entanglement between Bajor and Cardassia.
