Are they short? "Minor coded" because children are short compared to adults.
Is their voice high pitched? "Minor coded" because children have high pitched voices compared to adults.

The worst part is how many people do this *while being autistic themselves.* There's definitely some autistic people online who are afraid of growing up and having adult responsibility and therefore will do whatever they can to show that they're actually just little babies who need comfort and plushies uwu and autism is a good excuse for that. That this leads them to infantilize all the rest of us is an annoying side effect.

The webcomic Dumbing of Age did that in-universe, as a FU to the attitude.

The character Dina is small and autistic. So, when another character, Becky, starts getting close to her at a party, all the other characters responded with 'that's weird, Becky, it's like she's 12!'

Dina: >:( *AGGRESSIVELY kisses Becky*

Now Becky/Dina is the healthiest and most stable romantic/sexual relationship in the series.
