I'm still on tumblr for the purpose of looking at pretty pictures and whatnot, and there's a person I randomly followed ages ago because they seemed neat and funny. Last I heard, they were in a long term relationship and their partner had a baby, and they sort of drifted away from tumblr. I figured they were off being happy and domestic and didn't have time for social media, which honestly, is really nice for them.

Well, now they're back. And I'm guessing single, because 99% of their posts are nude pics/gifs of women, and horny reblogs about how much they want to touch tits and eat pussy and live happily ever after and also boobs boobs boobs boobs and pussssssaaaaay, etc. None of these posts are tagged nsfw so I can filter them out.

If this person were cismale, I would've unfollowed and blocked them immediately. But they're trans and I dunno, I feel bad. For dumb reasons. As if watching someone be horny as a teenager all the time isn't annoying if it's a transgender person. Ugh.

Is it the same person? They didn't get hacked or anything, did they?

I suppose that's possible. I'm not sure whether to hope the account's been hacked or accept that this person has gone from fairly normal to just... horny shit-posting.

Two of my fandom friends had a joint puppet account at LJ. Years after they faded from fandom, the account got hacked by a Russian bot, which posted endless Trump and Obama memes and what I would guess was misinformation at the time (this was shortly before the 2016 election).

Can't believe it's already Sicktember/Whumptober again. My fandom loves this shit all the year round, but for the next 2 months* the ao3 tags will be swamped with
- The same few canon whump scenes, recycled to infinity
- Blorbo has a nightmare
- Blorbo has a panic attack
- Blorbo has the sniffles, but hides it because he doesn't want to bother anybody! 3 paragraphs later he's in the ICU with triple pneumonia and a 110-degree fever
- Blorbo gets roofied

*actually longer than that because people will commit to writing every prompt but won't be able to keep up the daily pace

I need a sick day just thinking about this.

Why did my mind instantly go to the Supernatural fandom? I kinda like this time of the year because I love me some good whump and sick fics, but I need to pace myself because a lot of them are so same-y.

The thread calls for people to vent. I could see the complaint if it were something completely unreasonable, like framing it through one's bigotry. But being annoyed at people's habits sounds like something that is entirely appropriate for the thread.

The thing that annoys me about this is that I am all into that stuff, but only if it's well written. 99% is just faves turned into uncontrolled emotional messes, crying and panicking and needing to be coddled like a toddler. I hate it. I wish I could write and fulfill my own wishes, but alas.

Are you sure they weren't hacked?

My vent is silly, but I'm trying really hard to stop biting my nails and they're finally growing out, but I keep accidentally scratching myself and it's driving me crazy. I've cut them as short as I can, but they still feel too long.

The one big downside to stopping biting or tearing your nails is that they grow. It's so annoying. I scratch myself and I hate being able to feel my nails when I type. But I guess it's a good problem to have since it means we are successful getting rid of a bad habit?

Make sure you file and smooth down those little guys, especially those corners! I can't count the number of times I gave myself a catscratch on the arm.

Sounds like it's been hacked - happens to quite a few accounts that have been dormant for a while but still have a number of followers.

My vent is that it annoys me how people like the red flag guy (Dustin Poynter?) keep falling for/reacting to very obviously stage outrage bait videos. Like, I get it, he wants to make money and the point that certain displayed behaviour would be bad if the video wasn't staged is still valid but I hate when people are basically giving those fake "omg my partner is so evil" videos a platform.
