target audience doesn't even watch this show so no wonder it's cancelled. RIP SW.

+1

It's not surprising at all that it wasn't renewed, especially since it cost $180 million to make the first season.

How do you know who watched the show?

(Anonymous) 2024-09-06 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
SW fans sure as hell didn't. Almanda's fans apparently didn't. People that are only after braindead fanservice also didn't.

How do you know

- OP.
- other commenters.
- Ratings.
- Me.

If you’re in SW fandom you know who watches what, it’s actually unavoidable.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-06 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
You know who in fandom watches it, but that's different from who watches it.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-06 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the ratings show that not enough people watched it for it to be renewed for a second season.

Secret OP

So, outside of TDA, I haven't seen any of the new SW properties. Not even the Mando stuff, and I was snorting up the fic like a fiend in its heydey. I was expecting the same thing to happen with this show. I could probably catch it in a few years when I have time to watch anything. I'd have a good two or three seasons to get through. I figured it would have enough of a fanbase...but I was wrong :/.

And now, no delectable Manny Jacinto being a villain (swoon). No Amandla Sternberg being pretty on screen. Nada. AND from what I read somewhere, he was training with Ventress at a certain point, so she would have been a character toooooo?!!! Alas.

unfortunately for them, some of the target audience has been busy.

he was training with Ventress at a certain point

The series takes place ~100 years before the prequels, so that's unlikely.

That, or the target audience might not be as large as they had hoped.
