What is her attitude to trans fiction?

(Anonymous) 2024-09-07 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Not familiar with her, but...the title of Donkey Hall sounds familiar to a secret or comment posted in the comm once...about a fic (or maybe it was original fiction) that dealt with a guy (boy?) who was sent to an all girl academy and was feminized until the character realized she was trans? I think I recall problematic things happening -- I don't know! I apologize for any incorrect language/terms I may be using.

I'll have to Google this, but I'm pretty sure it's that...which makes me wonder what the rest of these books are about...and that the writer is maybe a fetishist? Or that...OP, please tell us!

A donkey hall is a british term referring to folk tale-related places in jokes and things where people lived with or like donkeys.

Not sure what the OP is referring to here really. She's a trans author who writes about men being feminized. (The other anon is right but they got the book wrong - it's Welcome To Dorely Hall that's the story in question, not Donkey Hall). I guess trans women aren't allowed to have kinks because of the 'political climate'...

I remember reading an essay that tried to tease out a theme from Dorley Hall. The essayist eventually gave up and declared DH had nothing to say other than “feminization is hot.”

(Anonymous) 2024-09-07 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, it's erotica, does it have to "say" anything other than the fetish it's about?

(Anonymous) 2024-09-07 10:50 am (UTC)(link)
There's having kinks and then there's basically being so outspoken about your kinks/not writing anything other than that specific kink that it kind of supports the transphobic argument of "trans women are all just autogynophilic men who take their kink too far".

(Anonymous) 2024-09-07 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
So she's not allowed to have kinks and write them like a cis person can because she's trans? Fuck off with that noise.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-07 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no, she can. But she also has to endure peoples sideyes, just like cishet authors who write only a very specific kink (stuff like rape or incest) do.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-13 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
He's totally allowed to write that shit, especially since it makes it super obvious that he's just a creepy fetishist who needs to be kept as far away from real women and girls as physically possible. Operation: Let Them Talk at work, peaking more people!
