I would hate to have people think I actually condone or participate in the tropes I write over and over again in my fic.

Right? There are a goddamn ton of authors out there, writing different ideas and different characters. What system is OP trying to judge people by, and are they gonna start crediting all the good and nice and pure things in stories to authors as well? Or is that too inconvenient?

Imagine how fucking boring media would be if we only wrote stories about vanilla people who never do anything remotely unagreeable.
