(Anonymous) 2024-09-08 03:12 am (UTC)(link)I don't pay close attention so I heard this from a friend BUT, apparently she's promoting a film that has domestic violence in it as if it were a romcom, making jokes about dv, and tried to shame a coworker because asked what her weight was - he had to lift her in a scene and had a previous back injury.
Re: Secrets you don't want to make...
(Anonymous) 2024-09-08 04:01 am (UTC)(link)I mean, that last one seems like partly his responsibility? Not even the weight issue, (though if he asked her in a way that sounded like he was weight-shaming her, I wouldn't blame her for shaming him back), but if he had a back injury, that's between him and the producers (and... uh... why are they making the guy with the back injury lift another grown adult anyway? Seems risky to me).
DV as a romcom though... fuck that. I don't care what the genders are, it is not funny and it is not cute and it never will be.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-08 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)JFC, I don't even care about Blake Lively and I'm annoyed.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-08 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)"I can't tell you, I haven't talked to Blake directly about it and therefore I am not allowed to say anything at all because one rando on the internet doesn't like it."
Sure, Jan, you weirdo.

(Anonymous) 2024-09-08 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)But this comment wins the thread, honestly.
Re: Secrets you don't want to make...
(Anonymous) 2024-09-08 06:34 am (UTC)(link)I wouldn't put promoting It ends with us as a romcom solely on Lively, as most marketing for that movie did that for some unfathomable reason. Even the interviewers treated it more as a romcom than a movie about domestic violence and it's very baffling.
Re: Secrets you don't want to make...
(Anonymous) 2024-09-08 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)Do you know of where to get information like this in a more general sense? About which entertainers (directors / writers) are basically shoved in front of everyone's faces because they're rich and well-connected but they're pretending not to be? Because it seems like a running theme and something that the internet could help a ton with documenting and getting the word out, but so far, I only seem to run across it by chance and piecemeal.
