I spent last weekend canoeing for the first time and just got home a couple days ago. I’m spending the weekend converting an awkward spot under our stairs into a gear room for all of my outdoor equipment. I am putting up some cedar planks to protect against moths, and I’m doing a couple panels of grid wall so I can move shelves and baskets around as the collection changes.
I’m also working on rope bowls for Christmas gifts. I just got a giant set of acrylic paints and some fabric medium to mix so I can “dye” the rope.

That's a busy weekend. What outdoor activities do you do the most (other than canoeing)?

Backpacking mainly. But also day hikes and some car camping. I just like to be outside walking and I especially love sleeping outdoors!

That sounds like so much fun - both the canoe trip and the organizing gear. My outdoor gear is in desperate need of proper storage and organization. I rent and there is very limited storage so they are kind of just taking up space in the corner if my bedroom 🙃

Ugh I know how that goes! Everything is supposed to be in totes but after 4-5 outings in a short time, it all gets so disorganized and stuff ends up in other parts of the house.
Would you be allowed to hang pegboard/slatwall/gridwall? Even if you don’t have a spot on the wall large enough to hold everything, it would make a huge difference to be able to get the big stuff off the floor and have your most used little stuff right at hand. I’m hanging a towel bar close to the ceiling to hang my sleeping bag and quilt and I think I’m most excited about that! Right now they’re hanging off a shelf by the door and everyone brushes against them as they walk by. It will be so nice to have that space opened up!
