"Forced birth" always reads to me like edgy teen or online warrior. Basically a red flag for people I don't bother engaging with.

I’m not in favor of abortion, but I don’t understand how “pro-life” isn’t in favor of birth in all cases.

I believe that it’s morally best to birth a child. A child has the potential for a good life, no matter the consequences in which he or she is conceived. The circumstances of his or her mother shouldn’t matter.

But there's a whole side of the ethics that aren't about the fetus, they're about the person carrying it. If bringing it to term and giving birth would harm or long-term inconvenience them, or if raising a child would, it's morally best not to have the child.

I would not be able to raise a child, but putting a child up for adoption where they would likely enter the foster care system and have a high chance of growing up miserable would be horribly, permanently damaging to my mental health. It's as much about my right not to damage myself worrying about a child I brought into the world as it is about the child's right to have a good life.

I hope as hell you are trolling

Apologies, I was in fact sort of trolling. Mostly I was trying to imagine/role play someone who was fervently anti-abortion and how they could in good faith not consider themself not “forced birth”

Because there's no such thing as pro-life, and there never was. There's nobody on this planet who is 100% pro-life about anything. Not even the most hardcore pro-birther (who typically has no problem with the mothers life being lost during pregnancy, not to mention other contradictory situations). They are not pro-life. They are pro-fetus and pro-birth. Everything else doesn't matter, because all they care about is fighting the easiest battle on the planet (because it isn't even THEIR battle to fight in the first place) and controlling anybody with a uterus.

But also, it some situations it's impossible to be pro-lif. Sometimes it just comes down to life vs. other life. It sucks, but that is reality.
