I think that the reason Kelsey Grammer succeeds in remaining funny is that unlike almost all his Right Wing comedian buddies, he has enough self awareness to remember that his characters being the butt of the joke is the funny part. When he is performing, he manages to park his ego. Also, Frasier reboot Season Two is much funnier so far.
