Just once I'd like the mythic lost Empire to really live up to the mythical status, and the related trope of the quest of the Lost Heir to restore the mythic majestic Empire of the past to actually end with the hero succeeding and not being forced to make one of those supposed dramatic choices to leave it in the past. Your subversions are so boring and commonplace, they ain't subversions no more. They are just the cliches now.
