On the surface, this seems like a very minor thing to me. However, it seems like a "death by a thousand cuts" thing for you. I recommend couples counseling, and if that's not an option, consider taking a break. I know there's a kid involved, which makes everything more complicated. However, I promise that "mommy and daddy live in separate houses" is almost always less traumatizing than "mommy and daddy hate each other and are only staying together because of me."
