Maybe if you're a tortoise, but the average lifespan of a human on planet Earth is 73 years old. Sorry if that makes you feel old.

The reason it was 45 is because it’s rounded from the halfway point between reaching adulthood and death. Many don’t consider anything under 50, some 55.
And in America the life expectancy for men is 75 and for women it is 80; both are still climbing. Most men who live to 45 live to 80; it’s young men’s deaths from high risk behavior that being the average down so low.

Heh, and then there's those older people who call everyone 10 years younger than them a "young man/woman". There's the semi-official age ranges and then there's individual perception. Not saying the latter trumps the former though, it just always cracks me up to hear my parents and some of their friends (age range 75-93) refer to peolle in their later 50s as young and then be confused when I don't know who they're talking about.

Hey, I remember that episode of original run Frasier where they made that joke with almost that exact same wording. God, you must be well over Middle Age (like me) if you are thinking you can use that one here.
