I know the "showrunners" didn't have access to certain parts of the lore but

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK??

Galadriel and Celeborn were married (ish) before the First Age was even over so what the actual fuck is happening in this show to shit on 50 years of Tolkien's backstory??

Well, what do you expect them to do? They only have access to certain parts of the lore, you said it yourself. But since you put showrunners in scare quotes I feel like you would hate any decision they have to make for the sake of the rights they don't have access to.

I don't follow this show, but why do you assume a fan theory that the secret says is BS means the showrunners are doing anything?

(Anonymous) 2024-09-25 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
Because whatever those hacks are doing is giving rise to this sort of bullshit.

Is Amazon monopolizing fandom crack theories now too? Bastards! That crack belongs to everyone!

(Anonymous) 2024-09-25 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
didn't realize only terrible media begat crackfics and theories

Ngl I had not considered this before but, you know what, I like it as a concept. It's interesting.

(And who cares if it isn't canon. It's fun.)

Genuinely, I like it too. Make it so he completely changed appearance, lost his memory, is under a spell, Idc. They had chemistry in the few scenes they had and I'd totally go for 'we were married and he disappeared in the wake of the war only to have been turned into the enemy and now we need to find our way back to each other'. It's intriguing! (that said, I have not watched season 2, so I don't know if there's something in there that excludes this theory)

AYRT I haven't watched Season 2 yet either so, same, but based on Season 1, I'd be super down for a long slow burn as they rediscover one another.
