They also have rape/noncon kinks which made things... uncomfortable at times. Especially with the occasional double standards that it's hot when it happens to male characters.

Personally I loved the noncon parts :) And idk that I think it's double standards?? Like, Alucard's fucked up by what happens to him; Hector not so much but the way their dynamic changes between seasons is so abrupt and weird that it doesn't come across to me as being shitty about the effect of being raped on men so much as 'we're changing both these characters and their dynamic extremely abruptly for some reason.' To me that doesn't come across as double standards so much as having a kink for it one way and not the other, which to me is fine - I don't think it makes sense to criticise kinks for double standards! I'd only think about it that way if it treated rape as something traumatic for women but basically something that can't happen to men, and I don't think it does.

nayrt but this, honestly.

I KIND of get the pair's motive, but they didn't seem that evil to me (until they entered the bedroom), and despite a little resentment, it felt like they were warming up to Alucard. Maybe it just needed more of a buildup. The kinky stuff didn't bother me as much as them taking advantage of his loneliness and vulnerability. That was just mean.
