What good things have happened to you or been in your life lately? What has made you happy recently?

I went to a mosaic craft event with a friend that I really didn't want to go to, but sogned up to support my friend. It ended up being so much fun and I ended up with a really pretty piece of functional artwork (I made a serving tray).

So, two good things already this week.

1. Speaker came to our church who works with a nonprofit at the border. Reminded me of why I picked immigration and law and brought back some of the inspiration that has faded a bit due to general life issues.

2. Had a great meeting with the head boss where I was able to articulate what my plans were for the year in terms of growing into the department head role. I actually was able to speak up for myself and I think it went really well.

This is so shallow compared to the other responses but I got a fog machine for my Halloween display and I’m ecstatic! I’ve been reading all kinds of things about how to integrate it and needing a chiller for ground fog and how to make one and I’m seriously geeking out big time.
I also finally got to start setting up my outdoor Halloween decorations but we’re still dealing with the aftermath of Helene so it will take me all week or maybe even longer to do it.

I had fun attending my first NFL game. It was an intriguing experience that was equal parts exciting and silly.

I don't think I'll do it again anytime soon (scheduling reasons plus I don't like my local team; I traveled to a neutral site for this one), but I do plan to go to at least one more game because I want to visit Lambeau Field.

Nice. I went to a few in-person baseball games with my dad when I was younger. In-person attending games is a whole other experience than watching and pretty fun. I hope you get to do the other game you want to as well.

Most recently. Seeing Green Day with my friends and staying out all night just having fun. Made me feel like I was young again without all those pesky grownup responsibilities.

Went to meet with friends last weekend and gothed up for the first time since 2019. It was so much fun and bought some really cute things at the alternative markets that we visited (currently obsessed with the big chunky bat pendant that I had bought and can't wait to wear).

Also my Rugrats boxset arrived today, so I'm looking forward to getting to rewatch all 9 series :)

Kel from Protector of the Small books. I just love her and all she represents and have since I first read the books as a teen. And every time I re-read the series (every few years) I am just reminded how awesome she is and how happy I am those books exist.
