Chimpanzees are pure nightmare fuel! I'm not calling them monsters because they aren't; they're just animals. But at their worst, I put them up there with African hippos and polar bears because you couldn't make me be within five hundred feet of one.

That's why I'm not fond of the Planet of the Apes remakes—especially the most recent series. The chimps are way too nice, and the gorillas and other rapes are too aggressive when the reverse should be true. No one would think of making a pet of a chimp if they had a lick of sense. I would trust a child with a gorilla. I wouldn't trust a chimp with a damn thing.

A lot of horrors of the past (and right now) stems from the dehumanization of humans by their fellow humans.

I think a failure to see the humanity of the apes in the Planet of the Apes films is quite a way to miss the point of the series.
