No offence to the fan translators, but most of the new names are better than the fan-names in my opinion. Eustace Winner is a fantastic pun (as much as I loved Debeste, I can't complain here), Verity Gavelle is way more fitting ('just in court' to 'truth, gavel'? Genius.), Samson Tangaroa is infinitely better than 'Jeff Masters' which always felt massively awkward to me. Delicia Scone, hilariously, managed to stay the same though! And Carmelo Gusto managed to keep the same wind reference that Dane Gustavia had!

The only name I'd say the fan translators did better, though... Ray Shields. It fits him way better than 'Eddie Fender'. 'A defender'? Really? That's the best the official translation team could do for him?? I kinda hate that I have to call him the official name now, but I absolutely will, because I promised myself I'd use the official names now and I have to get used to it.

I just started watching season 1 of Married with Children and I'm surprised at how...laid back the show was. The Bundys weren't too kooky just yet. I last watched Married with Children in my early 20s lol so it's been interesting to re-watch the show.

I definitely understand the charm of a show still trying to find their "thing", and to see characters still trying to find a solid identity.

I think I've made a secret to this effect before, but I like TNG's early season, the beardless Riker years. The show hadn't hit its stride yet, this is true. But I like seeing it develop over time and I don't skip the early episodes when I rewatch the series.

There is a strong resemblance for sure.

But also it is so obnoxious when people launch into a diatribe about how awful your opinion is on something right after asking for your opinion. Like there is a way to have a conversation where you can talk about how you view things differently, but insulting isn't it. My friend and I tend to find opposite attractions and we are always talking about the features we don't and do like in our different crushes, but it's never launching into insults or anything.
