I'm commenting to you again, because it's burning me up thinking about it. The only other option is that we don't interact with each other anymore. Yes, society doesn't want that...because that's the literal end of society. Us all spending our lives in little hermetically sealed bubbles is totally antithetical to the existence of society. And to many of the things that make us human, while we're at it.

I think you're going out of the way to miss the point here. If our country had anything like decent sick leave or healthcare, maybe people WOULDN'T FUCKING BE COMING IN TO WORK hoping that it's just a cold and not a new strain of flu or something deadlier!

to be a little clearer, we have the option to reduce spread, and the lack of doing that (wearing masks in closes spaces, especially if you are sick, where that helps, having the type of labor protections that let people come off sick or let their children do so without pay issues, including teachers, better infrastructure for kids who need to stay home from school, etc) leaving people with frustration because while you can't prevent sickness entirely, we could be doing more to reduce it.
