nayrt but agreed. And I was one of those who participated in the badfic showcase sites. In my case, there was no interaction so it wasn't quite pissing in someone's sandbox but it definitely was going on about how gross the sandbox itself was, the sandbox we had no obligation to even be around.

Eventually I started questioning what the point of that was. And that it was also possible to vent about annoying things in fic without calling out the author or bashing their tastes.
