OMG Richie! I haven't thought about him in years but I loved him in the anime! Baby me was too young for shipping back then but I definitely wanted him to stick around and join the gang.

Did he ever return after the Pokémon League?

He actually showed up in a few Chronicles episodes, which was a short series focusing on the many side characters and what they got up to when Ash wasn't around! He also had a cameo in Journeys to watch Ash's final championship match.

I didn't like Ash and Gary either back when I was huge on Pokemon shipping. It's obvious but I didn't like him, so it wasn't my bag.

I think it’s easier to ship Ash and Gary (Red and Green) in the game verse as opposed to the anime one, especially with the whole “he ran and hid away in Mount Silver!!!” thing.

Omg someone besides me and my friends obsessed with niche pokeani characters remembers Ritchie lmao. I love him!! For me with Ash, though, PokeShipping has always been number one... they were so cute in her Alola + Journeys appearances! Warmed my heart to see them all these years later lol. I still love Misty a lot.
