TBF you can read other books, realize the series wasn't as great as you thought it was growing up, and still be nostalgic for something you liked as a kid and made friends from.

Still financially supporting a TERF, on the other hand.

This right here. I've moved on to other book fandoms that I think are better, and I'd really moved on even before Rowling came out as a transphobe. But I am still nostalgic for the fandom and still read fic occasionally. But I'll never give her any more money.
