OP

I hope I did get to them because I'm sick of people not recognizing or caring when someone has been abused or victimized. If they can't tell when a fictional character went through something traumatic because they hate them, then it's very likely they can't when it happens to a real person they also have no respect or care for.

And victim-blaming 100% makes them a bad person. And make no mistake, Xander was victimized no matter what they or anyone else claimed.

That sounds like a lot of all-or-nothing thinking on your part.

I know folks with zero sympathy for some of my favorite characters who have been through some awful shit. Sure, it's annoying, but I do not think they are bad people. It's just that something about my favorite characters rubs them the wrong way.

Still, I take cues from their actions in real life. I don't make premature judgments based off of disgust they expressed over a fictional character.

philstar probably has more empathy in her right pinky than some do in their entire being. I've read her stories here, how she fights for immigrants, and how she rescued a cat that was previously abused. But if you were in charge, then none of that would matter. I highly recommend taking a longer time with your assessment of who she is. Or better yet, just let it go.

I have made my position clear: I will speak up whenever I see victim-blaming and continue speaking for as long as necessary. I will not be bullied into shutting up.

Seriously?

Do better because that is not going to shut me up.

Getting the last word in is not the same as winning the argument. Insistence on doing so can often be the same as losing one. You're far closer to the latter than the former on this on.

You're the one bullying, throwing judgments at real life people because they disagree with you on a fictional character. The sooner you accept this, the better off we'll all be.
