DA but I think there is a difference between dark storylines and "grimdark" media.

It drives me crazy that people can't seem to understand this. I can think of plenty of pieces of media of all types that have dark storylines but that aren't grimdark.

Maybe I do not understand grimdark indeed. I genuinely thought it was 'there is no hope, everyone can die at any point including main characters, nobody gets a moment of peace, everyone is miserable'. If it's not, then I'm very much willing to get educated, because I always assumed that that was indeed the definition.
