What are some fandoms you were surprised got huge and which ones were you surprised didn't get big?

Inception will always be the weirdest one to me, it’s the most non-shippy movie I have ever seen and yet it spawned so icy fic. Truly baffling to me.

Otherwise I tend to get why the big fandoms get big, theres usually some form of ‘fixer-upper’ element to them or at least gives fandom wiggle room to add things to the story and get creative.

The Dark Knight Rises wasn't HUGE but it was way bigger than I thought it would be. Bane/John Blake was huge.

There are many podcasts that I'm shocked were not huge. Especially Wolf 359 and We're Alive. They just came out too early.
