Oh god. anyone still thinking Roswell is anything in tyool 2024 should be immediately cancelled. the original UM was started to bring attention to actual crimes where the public might have information to help; in the internet age the public isn't needed as much, so uh. why reboot this?

I agree with you re: Roswell, but uh... the internet can't really do anything on its own. Its usefulness lies in being able to widely broadcast information to the public very quickly. You absolutely do need the public, because where are you going to get tips from?

I was thinking in terms of being able to easily search everything from public records to local media stories of crimes. It's easier to crowdsource solutions than it was in 1990 when you had to wait for a once-a-week show to air and then rely on your memory or a VHS recording to revisit the details just in case you think you saw the wanted man at the gas station or something. Plus now we have amber and silver alerts when someone goes missing. Not to say it's 100 percent, after all there's a few missing people in my area with signs up and I sure don't want to be the one finding remains, every year a few hunters get to be that guy. /shiver
