You're one of the users I was talking about thinking was cool. And you're right: People are allowed to be angry and scared. And I'm allowed to be happy and hopeful. And I encourage people who are angry and scared to reflect on what good anger and fear accomplish? IF you're right, and the next 4 years are going to be... substantially any different to the last 2 and a half centuries, then you need to focus on staying functional. My advice is the best thing you can have for that.

But I don't think it's going to be that. I think, I honestly believe in my fucking bones, you're torturing yourself over nothing, over media manipulation and mass hysteria. I don't mean this to be a dick, because everything I've seen of you, you don't deserve to have to live like that. I genuinely want you to be happy. I want for these 4 years to go by and you to say "wow wako was right, fuck all happened". But if you can't let go of the - what I honestly believe is hysteria - and you think every scoop of ice cream trump takes is a dagger in the heart of the country... I want you to get through the next 4 years like "That was horrible, but at least I didn't let it harm me unnecessarily"

Believe me or don't. Respect this opinion or don't, hate me or don't, I genuinely believe this will not be so terrible, and I absolutely wish you - personally you, and a few others - well.

As to the other people? The people who are constantly dicks to me? Nah, I know they're feeling this, and I don't care. I hope they DONT take my advice, and I hope - to the very bottom of my heart, to the basement of my colon - I hope they feel every second of it. There are some people in this world, on this community, that have worn out my compassion. and I say Fuck 'em. Bitter, spiteful, dickish. I know. I don't like that part of myself, but it's there. I shall have to live with it.

You're right, you're allowed to have your emotional reaction. And it might still be for nothing. The fat lady hasn't sung yet, But in any possible scenario I would GUESS - even in your job - Hope is more useful?
