no, I'm against prosecuting for "moral" crimes with prison time. A fine or a few months in prison should be enough, esp for a 1st sentence. And that is if anyone was really harmed. A small fine is enough if it was just their feelings. I remember a case of some american stealing a poster in North Korea and dying after the prison there. Or someone getting tortured for putting a Quran book on fire.
Furthermore I am against this because he doesn't know the language or the law there.

Excuse me for not delving into his full list of misdeeds. As I said if he really harmed people get him a few months in jail and a fine.

You can jail him for 20 years, whatever.

Well, I think AYRT was using that as a "for instance" as an example of a non-murder crime that warrants prison, because Somali has not, as far as we know, committed that specific crime. But he's in the sort of ballpark where your right, you probably shouldn't look onto it. Just trust me, he's worse than you think, but not as bad as AYRT suggests.

It was more the implication that only thing that would be worth it was murder, not, you know, the deepfake of a Korean idol and harassing multiple women sexually.

The North Korea story was a bit more complicated and much, much more sketchy.

Re: Some unity after the recent ugliness.

North Korea also doesn't allow any misbehavior at their memorial sites and their leader's museums. It's practically the same country too or they were not a long time ago. If SK jails a guy for the disrespect they will look like NK.

Re: Some unity after the recent ugliness.

(Anonymous) 2024-11-11 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, pretty sure someone discrespecting one of the memorials in NK but directly get the death penalty, ther whole family included so that's a bit different.
