What's on your Amazon wishlist?

(Anonymous) 2024-11-14 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
This is the time of year when relatives are holiday shopping, but sometimes I struggle to find stuff to put on my wishlist. It's not that there's nothing I want, it's just... the things I want tend to be way too expensive, or not really something that's practical for another person to purchase for me. I try to think of stuff that's fun or useful, that I wouldn't necessarily purchase for myself because of budgetary reasons.

So what sort of gifty type things are you hoping to get this year?

I use my amazon wishlist as a sort of bookmark for me. It has all sorts of random stuff on it. I also have two wishlists, a general one and a camping/backpacking/travel one. Hinestly the general one is like 75% books at this point with a few household/kitchen gadgets thrown in.

Same. I don't give the link out. I have a lot of books on there I eventually want to buy.

I have wishlists for all sorts of things, mostly stuff I intend to buy myself. But my most recent interest is solo board games / card games, and I have enough options that I can definitely request some for the holidays.

I got one for books, one for general stuff, and one for stuff to buy for others.

Oooh one to buy for others is a good idea. I'm gonna start that.

While I have two wishlists (books & other stuff), I really just want some quiet time to be by myself. This has been a very tough year, and I, an introverted introvert, have not had enough alone time.

Mine is mostly socks that cost $25 a pair. I also use handkerchiefs a lot in the winter for cold drip so those are on there, too. I never, ever get socks or handkerchiefs because my family really doesn’t know shit about me. So I always make sure to throw some kitchen stuff on there, too. A gravy strainer, mini food processor, cheap immersion blender, just any low cost small stuff I can easily fit in my kitchen.

Art books. I am eyeing an incredible edition of Gustave Dorè's works, but it's almost 50 euros and I dont have the courage to buy it for myself.
I hope my family will put 5 euro each and get it to me... I need it.
I'd also like art supplies, but I'm difficult to please so generally people just gift me ink bottles and call it a day lol i use a lot of ink for sketching and writing so quality can vary and it'll still get used in the end.
Painting supplies are trickier. I get artist grade colours usually so I don't trust other people to buy me them for me.

I just got an e-bike for commuting to work, so my Christmas List is full of non-essential but nice-to-have cycling equipment this year.

I have a collection of different lists for things like hobby related stuff to home goods for my own future place . I just find it so fun to casually make lists of things I may want in the future. It's fun like digital window shopping from the comfort of home.

Books and yarn this year. I'm burning through my yarn stash making everyone else's gifts asldkjsaslkdj. Plus, with how long this apartment/house hunt I'm on is, the kind of cute little tchotchkes my family often finds for me, I just have no ROOM for while I'm staying in my mom's house. All my nice kitchen things are sitting in a big rubbermaid storage container, and my cute little display toys just haven't got the shelf space... Actually, DVDs as well as books, I can find room for. They're small and flat, and I love having physical media. I just come from a family of maximalists and they love hunting for little quirky decor pieces as gifts, and normally I LOVE it, but right now it's just...

I want CSI seasons 1-8 and all of the New York one on DVD. (I'd prefer getting those at a brick and mortar DVD store to amazon but I haven't been able to find them there. There are a lot less around than there used to be.)
