For the most part I 100% agree with you, but there is this one thing...a thing I saw in real life. I witnessed this in real fucking life between 2 people I know, who I KNOW are smarter than this, and more than that I know are COMPLETELY UNAFFECTED by the thing they were pretending to be so passionate about. It was an excuse. It was "I just really want someone I can hurt and feel like I've done a good thing".

But I guess you're right. It's definitely spilling out FROM the internet... Only before we had the internet, it was happening over the TV, before that books. It's 100% too much internet, but maybe it's too much people as well.

That sounds like a them problem, honestly. If they're then turning around and reporting that they were good little Whatevers to the internet for backpats, that sounds like even more of a them problem.

To be clear here, I'm not saying humanity is great. But people get stupid when they get to be loud for points. And loud people are the ones you end up noticing because they drown out everyone else.

I dunno if the real lifers are running to the internet, I imagine they are, because I know how well this shit plays there. The problem that is a ME problem is that I think I've seem too much of people revealing that their drive to do good things is a mask to hide their real intention: to find someone whos personhood they can ignore, who they can treat like shit while still feeling like the good guy. To find someone who they can cast as thanos in the avengers movie they see their life as.

I'll be real with you, if every single person in your life is living to hate something then either you're surrounding yourself with bad people OR you're not bothering to look into situations far enough to find out what's going on.

"All sides and all people are the same" is a really blind - and easy, and lazy - way to approach things when often there are clear instigators of conflict.

The BAD people. Yeah. That's the problem. If only I could look into situations deeper I would recognise who are the BAD people, and then, being a GOOD person, I could do something about them. That's what we need. People who KNOW. People who KNOW they're the GOOD people and therefore have the moral licence to get that sweet sweet payback on the BAD people who deserve everything that happens to them. Oh thank you for solving my problem.

Adrenochrome is a funny meme. Just because it started with antisemites doesn't mean every time anyone accuses the billionaire paedophiles who run the world of drinking children's blood to stay young it is ALWAYS talking about the jews.

Antisemites launched a man to the moon and invented Fanta, the Jerry, and the UK labour government. Doesn't mean these things are all still antisemitic today. Labour had been free of antisemitism for at least 2 years before the recent "Kill the jew" Palestinian protests made them rethink some things.

An AAAAALLLLL of that is perfectly valid but missing the other main point: Jokes about jews and the jewish conspiracy are FUNNY. See for example: I'm going to call up my people and have them order mass flooding in your area. And then I will steal your foreskin.

You can KEEP on with this "Wako is an antisemite" if that's REALLY all you got, but you should probably know, I've said WAY worse stuff than that and I'm not even a little embarrassed by any it. I don't do it on F!S because Case doesn't like it and it just makes more work for him. But if you think there's any milage in trying to remind people I made an adrenochrome joke about a gentile celebrity to embarrass me about my antisemitism? I mean, good luck achi, really, keep at it.

TBH, that's typical bully logic. Every bully I've ever dealt with has always had "good reasons" or reasons why their behavior either isn't bullying or is justified somehow. Unfortunately, fandom culture shifted from people being motivated to do the right thing to parroting the designated correct political views and being right all the time (and the designated correct views change on a dime). How they actually treat other people doesn't really register, if they're being horrible to others for what they consider to be a good cause (which really just boils down to winning Internet arguments 98% of the time).

I greatly disagree with you about politics, but you aren't wrong about the behavior that's been going on. There are people on both sides who so fervently believe in their cause and their ideology that they think it legitimizes any kind of awful behavior they want to dish out. Unfortunately, those people are also the ones setting the tone for the most part, as well. At the end of the day, I think it's how we treat each other that matters most. If someone is only an asshole when they are angry at someone else, they're still an asshole.

It's not how people behave when they're happy or agree with you that tells you who they really are; it's how they behave when they're angry or disagree.

This comment resonates with me. I don't have anything more to say because I just straight up agree, but I felt bad just saying NOTHING.
