It is a traumatic movie for a lot of people but has an important message, so I don't really see the problem.

I have to ask if you mean the message most people take away from the film ("war is bad and it makes the least among us suffer"), or the one the director intended ("fuck them kids"), or the one the writer intended ("I was horny for my little sister but let her die anyway")
