I can't stand wangxian focus, but if they're tagged in EVERYTHING just for being background canon, then I either have to scroll through a million wangxian fics or else filter out some stuff I might love.

use primary vs background pairing tags, guys. it makes EVERYBODY happier.

"background ship xyz" works just fine for that, though. and it allows people who don't mind it as background but don't actually want a story about it to filter out "main ship xyz" without getting rid of the ones where it's just background.

Only slightly related, but a review of Wicked where some mom was mad to learn it was about witchcraft because her kids were big fans of Ariana Grande and wanted to see Princess Ariana crossed my Tumblr dash, and like... Ariana Grande? "Top 40 hits about wanting to get fucked harder, getting fucked so much she can't walk straight, and about 69-ing" Ariana Grande? I know she was on a Nickelodeon show, but they were either trolling or not familiar with any of her work from the past decade.

OP, I'm laughing at you calling Australia "hot." From what I understand, the temperature is so unnaturally high that the asphalt melts. And on top of that, everything in your environment is trying to kill y'all. And y'all complain about it as though it's a minor inconvenience when I'm sure most of the rest of us would last about twenty minutes in an Australian summer.

A quibble. Yes, the republican “fans” are total morons. But Green Day did not start out political. They didn’t even start out as new American punk or whatever they call it. I know a lot of people who loved them when they first hit the scene only to be very disappointed in the direction they took their sound.
