Student/Teacher. Hate it in every form.

yeah, I don't like it either.

I don't mind if both are adult and it's not in a conventional mandatory school system setting. Like a 35 year old going back and taking part time night classes at a local college and falling for one of the instructors? Technically teacher/student but have at, idc.

It's the whole underage + mandatory school + power and age gap thing in high school teacher/student that's ick for me, not necessarily the teacher/student bit.

DA but that scenario is kinda cute, that's a teacher/student dynamic I'd like to see.

There is definitely a scale of DNW with the trope but I don't like any of it. It is a power imbalance and professionalism thing. It just strikes me as an inappropriate position for a teacher to take no matter the age. Maybe if a fic had people meet and then get together after the class was over, but then that isn't really teacher/student trope.

However I will say it is one of the tropes I hate but can see and understand why people do like it. Just isn't for me.
