He was upset that his favorite big strong manly man character was turned into an icky nasty gay and ranted about how pandering ruins everything. I figured they just thought other people in here were liable to yell at them for using any word that might be pejorative, given that we've got people roaming the internet trying to claim that "gypsy," "black," "indian," "blind," "retarded," "disabled," "autistic," "transsexual," "bisexual," and "queer" are all bad slurs, and these words must not be used anymore. "Cripple" would fit right in, on any ever-expanding word blacklist, right?

It makes me half-expect that activists will argue everyone should stop saying gay, eventually, because when I was in school it meant every bad, backwards thing under the sun, to literally everyone who used it in public. Those of us who actually were gay just knew not to trust anyone who ranted about it in a pointed, consistent way. But no, useage be damned, they seem to like the word "gay." I've long since given up on expecting that sort of thing to make any kind of sense.
