Between US politics stuff and depressing personal and work stuff, I put a bunch of romantasy and a couple cozy regency mysteries and YA things in my library hold queue as a mental palate cleanser. Most of them so far have been just okay. But I returned The Wren in the Holly Library as soon as the (presumed?) love interest was introduced, because the character's physical description and dialogue were a level of cliche that... look, if you're not writing a parody, nobody important's first line should be "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" And it got worse from there.
