You really don't need to "treat" it, just rest and take it easy the same way you would any other illness. Both of my parents (both in their 80s) have had it twice, they got Paxlovid for it because of their age but both times they had it it was just like an annoying cold.

I'm glad your parents were fortunate. When I got COVID, it was far worse than a cold. My throat was so sore that I struggled to eat and drink for several days, which didn't exactly help my fever - that ran a week. I spent most of that week lying down because every time I stood up I felt wobbly and light-headed. I also had body aches and chills like a bad case of the flu. After a week of this, the sore throat gradually faded and the fever receded but I was still so tired that everything left me feeling wrung out and spacey. If I hadn't treated this with over the counter medication, I wouldn't have been able to swallow and going without food and water for a week would've been a terrible idea. I was vaccinated and this was a mild case. I got lucky in that I didn't have breathing problems, and didn't have to go to the hospital.

We all know COVID is different for different people. Maybe don't downplay it to others just because your experience wasn't as bad.

Every illness is different for different people. My mother had autoimmune issues and COPD, so the common cold nearly killed her a couple of times. But that's unusual, so we don't go around treating the cold like a huge threat.

I'm sorry that Covid was tough for you. But you don't get to demand that society revolve around you.

Covid is more akin to the flu, which we do go around treating like a threat because it is one and kills numbers of people each year. It is not a common cold that should just be brushed off.

Covid has killd between 8,000 to 12,000 people this year alone in the US according to the CDC. But you don't need to treat it and it's just an annoying cold? Don't spread misinformation, please.

For most people these days, yeah, it's going to be like a cold or the flu. Which isn't to say that you shouldn't get vaccinated to protect yourself against it the same way you would get a flu shot, but it's not nearly as bad as it was when it was first circulating.

Yeah, I know. Why are you telling me this?
