I can see where OP is coming from; in my experiences the point when frequent creators start chasing clicks by gaming the algorithm, the less attention they pay to the quality of their content. It becomes more about numbers, including money, than sitting in front of their camera talking about what they love. Rough balance, to want people to see your content but getting stuck in the loop.

MEH, I prefer to tell whether the content lowered the quality by watching, if so then I'll not watch the next. Sucks but YouTube is a hellscape algorithmic wise, I understand that this means creators have to pull a stunt or two at times.
