Nah this is definitely people separating music from the rest of things that have fandoms.

If this secret had read "I don't like anime and can't take it seriously" or "I don't like movies, the only ones I like are parodies" people would nod along and go yeah, that's unusual, sure, it's entertainment media.

Somehow people don't count music as the same thing, even though they should.
