The only video game I've played in years in Genshin. Sometimes the writing is tedious as heck, and I would have strangled Paimon a long time ago if that were an option. But, some of the time, it's a lot of fun, and I absolutely have zero interest in shelling out an extortionate amount of money for halfassed, buggy software that you don't even get to really own. The ripoffs can go on their merry way without me, and anon, it might work out for you, too.

I do agree that it's a shameful way to run a business, though, whether people buy it or not.

"Paid DLC is bad but gacha is good" is...certainly a take.

There's gacha games that treat you like a second class citizen if you're playing free, and exclude you from parts of the game or put you at a significant disadvantage. I don't think that's worth putting up with. But so far, in my experience, Genshin never has. The big spenders apparently manage to shell out enough to keep the studio's bills paid.
