Oh man yes. For a glorious sixty seconds or so in Lucifer Rising I thought she was going to be a villain in S5 but remain weirdly in love with Sam whilst doing for. It would have been so good D:

I was SO MAD/SAD she can't fuck with Sam's head anymore, even though he's been wanting someone to take him out back and shoot him since season two and I shouldn't be for hurting him this much BUT I CAN'T STOP. Damn. This post (and this secret) made me wish Ruby hadn't died. I think I actually would've enjoyed her character as a straightforward villain, as opposed to her role in s4.

It was obvious that she was manipulating Sam for her own purposes since the beginning of season four, and even before that she was never not a demon. What did you expect but betrayal? It wasn't much of a surprise (for me) but it was awesome.

The whole time Kripke and co. were trying too hard to play up the too obvious TWEEST to actually execute the character well.

I would have loved to see the twisted fucked-up love of Sam and Ruby. One where she manipulates Sam to do truly evil and despicable things because she loves him in her own wrong demonic way. We got to see only a bit of that right before she died.
