Nicely done secretmaker! I really like the layout and text/color choices on this one.

Agreed.

Yeah, I remember people in the late 80s/early 90s thinking these types of hip hop songs were so dirty, but in hindsight it was actually a pure, humorous kind of dirty? Specifically about men wanting to please their women and wanting women as they were. Thinking about The Humpty Dance in particular.

Having both kind of a big nose and a big butt, I unironically loved Baby Got Back and The Humpty Dance.

Now I have to have a wet ass pussy all the time! The pressure!

I remember a Tumblr post where it said that it's a quite feminist song. Sir Mix-a-Lot commented in a 1992 interview: "The song doesn't just say I like large butts, you know? The song is talking about women who damn near kill themselves to try to look like these beanpole models that you see in Vogue magazine." He explains that most women respond positively to the song's message, especially black women: "They all say, 'About time.'"

You can have them bimbos
I'll keep my women like Flo Jo

Flo jo: the fastest woman ever recorded.

This secret kinda reminded how the bar is so low, but you're not wrong. Being catchy and humorous as fuck (imo) gives it points too.

I only ever heard this song when it was played on MTV way back when, so I don't think I ever really paid any attention to the lyrics. Reading them, though? Cool! It's nice that a guy even back then was wanting women to disregard the 'industry standard' of looks and lean into their natural bodies.

Sir Mix-a-Lot was the best thing to ever come out of Seattle.

Funny thing about the video for this song is that the women dancing... kinda... don't have that large of butts? Like they still seem to me to be the thin model type (just not to an extreme) and aren't really all that curvy in the back. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
