Not exactly bizarre and pretty mundane frankly, but it did freak me out a little. In my country tap water isn't super bad but it isn't considered drinkable without boiling at least. I've watched this older woman at work adding cold water from tap to her tea. Not only adding cold water seems barbaric for a tea drinker but we have perfectly functional filter system. Whyyyyy

If it’s during the steep, maybe she’s brewing something that needs to be steeped at a lower temp than black tea. No idea why she isn’t using the filter. Maybe she wants to get in on the raw milk fad but she’s lactose intolerant.

Nah, it was "this black tea is too hot, better get it colder fast".
But I love your idea of raw milk fad. That's some treatment for iron deficiency alright! :D

Oh that would make me twitch haha. Bizarre but not something you can really comment on but my mind would notice and go 'but whhhhyyy?' every time.
