Re: Original works you read/saw *after* seeing an adaptation

LotR. It was better because I had an idea of the chronology. I liked the books better but that's because I skipped the stuff I didn't like and I didn't think the movie adapations were great.

Maybe A Room with a View and Maurice too. It's been a long time but I think both movies and books are great.

Probably Total Recall which I didn't know was adapted from Philip K. Dick. I read all kind of stuff from Dick as a teen and didn't make the connection. I don't think I liked the movie.
