Same. My friend loooooves it, so I smile and nod and ask very generic questions even though I care in the negative about it. *sigh* The things we do for friendship.

idk I wouldn't want my friends to pretend to care and engage. i can see being a supportive listener to my latest fandom, but I don't need them to fake engagement while secretly being annoyed or whatever.

She does the same for me. Sometimes I just can't contain it when I get into a new tv show or book series and I know she has no intention of ever checking it out and does not care one whit, but she listens to me warble. Sometimes we do things that slightly annoy us because it makes our loved ones happy.
