Gaming Headphones?

(Anonymous) 2025-01-03 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Does anyone use headphones for gaming? I’m looking for recs, specifically ones that cup the ears instead of resting on them. Google-fu has turned up the recommendation of Logitech g935 but those have well documented problems that kill the headset in a year or less.

I do, but I'm a cheap bitch who uses headphones from the dollar store.

For my Xbox, I use the Xbox gaming headset. For my PC I use audio-technica ones.

Sound quality wise, I love using audio technicas. The ATH-GDL3s are my favorite pair - the speakers are top notch, the microphone is great, and they're open backed so you can still hear things around you if you need to. They have a noise cancelling version as well.

For a less expensive version, Razer has some cheaper over the ears headphones that will do the job. They tend to be heavier and a bit less high fidelity, but half as much as an audio technica pair.

I have basic HyperX ones. They work well for the price.
